Ofsted Monitoring Visit - Thursday 4 and Friday 5 May 2023

Dear Parent/Carers,
We have been notified today that Ofsted will be conducting a monitoring visit at Welling School tomorrow 4th May and Friday 5th May.
This is the school’s first monitoring visit since the last full inspection in February 2022 and will focus on the areas that the school was asked to improve.
Mr Griffen and I spent nearly 2 hours speaking with the lead inspector this morning giving them a full and frank view of where we think the school has made progress and also areas we know continue to need further improvement. We have shared our school improvement plan and also evidence based evaluations.
If you would like to join us in sharing our progress with inspectors please use this link: https://parentview.ofsted.gov.uk
The outcome of this inspection will not change the school’s current grading. A monitoring visit is to assess the progress the school is making. We will receive a letter confirming the inspection team’s findings which I will of course share with you. This can be a number of weeks afterwards.
I am proud of the impact of the commitment of our staff, students and the support that you have offered the school as it continues to develop and improve. I am looking forward to sharing our achievements, aspirations and our shared ambition with inspectors.
Thank you for your continued support.
Yours faithfully
Daniel Hatley
