Temporary School Closure (Thursday 25th & Friday 26th June)
Dear Parents and Carers,
Temporary School Closure
I am writing to inform you that due to the forecast of extreme weather conditions and a Red level weather warning, the school will be closed on Thursday 25th June and Friday 26th June.
The health, safety, and well-being of our students and staff are our top priorities. With temperatures expected to reach extreme levels, our building will unfortunately not be a conducive environment for teaching or learning.
Please note the following important arrangements for these two days:
-
Remote Learning: Lessons and resources will be provided online via Google Classroom. Students are expected to log in and complete their work from home as they would during a normal school day. In addition to this, we also have some useful resources in the form of knowledge organisers and remote working activities on our school website.
-
Free School Meals (FSM): Families whose children are eligible for Free School Meals can collect a packed lunch from the school.
-
Collection Time: Between 10:00 AM and 11:00 AM on both days.
-
Action Required: If you require a meal on either day, you must notify the school office today by 5:00 PM so we can ensure we have a packed lunch prepared. Email hannah.loughlin@wellingschool-tkat.org
-
We expect the school to reopen as normal on Monday 29th June, with a return to full school uniform. Thank you for your understanding, cooperation, and quick response regarding the meal collection. Please be assured these measures are given very careful consideration and are taken with the safety and wellbeing of our school community at their heart.
Should any student require support over the next two days, our safeguarding team are on hand and can be contacted on DSL@wellingschool-tkat.org
Please stay safe and keep cool over the next few days.
Your faithfully,
B. Griffen
Headteacher
