About Personal Development

At Welling School, we believe that your grades open doors, but your character is what carries you through them. Our Personal Development program is not an 'extra', it is the blueprint for your life. We provide the tools to transition from a student to a successful, independent adult: mastering the resilience to overcome setbacks, the empathy to lead others, and the confidence to own your future.

We understand the power of learning outside of the classroom and believe that in order to help them grow as confident, resilient young people our students should experience as many things as we can possibly provide. Alongside the formal curriculum, students learn new skills and develop their knowledge through a huge range of clubs, teams, national and international trips, all of which are available throughout the academic year including the Duke of Edinburgh Award programme.

We are excited to introduce you to our seven year roadmap which demonstartes all of the exciting goals, milestones, and necessary skills at each stage of our student's journey. Our roadmap has been designed to guide our students through their educational journey, providing a clear path toward their academic and professional success. By identifying key areas of development, this roadmap helps students navigate their learning experiences both in and outside of the classroom.
