Year 10 GCSE Information Video

Dear Parents and Carers,

I hope you and your families are well.

We are pleased to share with you our Year 10 GCSE Information Video, created to support you and your child at the beginning of their GCSE journey. Now that we are a few months into the year, this felt like the right moment to offer a clear, accessible overview of what the journey ahead looks like and how we can work together to support your child’s success.

Rather than holding an in-person information evening earlier in the term, we felt that a video format would be more helpful and accessible for a wider group of families. It allows you to watch the information at a time that suits you, revisit key sections whenever you need to, and discuss the content with your child at your own pace. Our aim was to create something supportive, practical and easy to engage with.

The video covers:

• What to expect throughout Year 10

• Key information about the core GCSE subjects (English, Maths and Science)

• How GCSE assessment and grading work

• How you can support your child at home

• The expectations, routines and support woven into school life

• What the journey towards the end of Year 11 will look like
