TKAT - The Kemnal Academy Trust
Welling School is an academy as part of The Kemnal Academies Trust (TKAT)
TKAT is a multi-academy trust which was established on 1st September 2010. Its constitution is set out in the Articles of Association and this is shared with individual academies via the Scheme of Delegation. TKAT have, through the Scheme of Delegation, established Local Governing Bodies for each of the Academies.
At the heart of TKAT are the students and their right to have an outstanding education in order to give them the best life chances. The foundation of the TKAT model is based on school to school support to ensure that the very best standards of teaching and learning are developed and that schools are equipped to enable all staff and students to make outstanding progress.
TKAT comprises a number of academies, both primary and secondary in Essex, Kent, Medway, Bromley, Bexley, Surrey, West Sussex and Hampshire. While each Academy operates independently through its Local Governing Body, the ethos is that all the Academies will work collaboratively, to enable students and staff to flourish.
The Local Governing Body of each of the Academies is responsible for fulfilling the strategic and operational governance role in the conduct of the Academy.
