Emergency School Closure

Emergency School Closure Procedure

In the event of incidents such as adverse weather, power failure, etc, every attempt will be made to keep the School open in order to minimise disruption to teaching & learning. However, the prime objective will be the health and safety of students and staff. Under such circumstances we will carry out a risk assessment, taking account of the conditions on site to ascertain if it is safe to enter the site / keep the school open. In the event of the school having to close, please check the school website as any notifications regarding a school closure will be updated by 7:30am

Alternatively, please look at the school Opencheck link or visit www.bexley.gov.uk for information on days of severe weather conditions. You may call 020 8408 7508 and key in the school's DFE number, 303 4021, for an automated message.

Can we please remind parents / carers to ensure that the 'In the event of Emergency Closure' page in student planners is signed as a precautionary measure should the school need to close.

In the event of an emergency, such as a school closure, please provide the school with any updates or changes to your contact details. All letters and information from the school will be sent via our Parent Communication Channels.

Our Emergency Contact form can be found below. Once completed, please return to the school office FAO of Mrs Burvill, or email over to admin@wellingschool-tkat.org.
