Staggered Return in January 2021

January 2021 Return to School
Today the Government announced that they are “asking secondary schools and colleges to operate a staggered return supported by full-time remote education during the first week of term with in-person teaching in full starting on Monday 11 January 2021. Students in exam year groups, vulnerable children, children of key workers, will attend school in person from the start of term as well as students in primary, special and alternative provision schools and colleges.”
The school is not in a position to communicate detailed arrangements regarding the start of term and remote learning. However, I would like to share some information so that parent/carers are able to make plans in advance of the new term.
The school is still closed to all students on Monday 4 January for a Staff Inset Day.
Students in Year 11 and 13 should return to school on Tuesday 5 January as normal. Vocational exams scheduled for the week of 4 January will go ahead as planned.
Children of key workers should return on Tuesday 5 January. If you would like your child to attend because you are a key worker please complete this form:

On Monday 4 January we will be contacting parent/carers of vulnerable students to confirm that their child should return on Tuesday 5 January.
All other students in Year 7, 8, 9, 10 and 12 should return to school on Monday 11 January.
At this stage I am not able to share any further details regarding coronavirus testing of students. When we are in receipt of more information I will share this including whether your child will need to attend school in the week of 4 January.
Please check your emails or the school website for a further update on Monday 4 January. If you have any queries regarding this letter please email enquiries@wellingschool-tkat.org.
With very best wishes.
Yours sincerely
