Year 11 Parents Consultation Evening

I am delighted to confirm details of the Year 11 Consultation Evening taking place on Thursday 29th September 2022 from 15:30 to 18:00. This is a crucial event at the start of Year 11 for students, parents/carers and teachers to have open and honest discussions about attainment, progress and attitude to learning in light of Mock Examination results from Year 10. The purpose of this event is twofold: firstly, to help your child to maximise their potential and, secondly, so that you are in the best position to support them to further improve their attainment by their GCSE examinations in May.
Miss Sangster (Deputy Headteacher) wrote to you in May 2022 to explain that ‘we are committed to ensuring we develop systems that mean you are kept well up to date with your child’s progress and learning in school, across all of their subjects. With this in mind, you will have the opportunity to book 5 minute slots with subject teachers to discuss your child’s report which will be released in advance of our Consultation Evening. The report may form the basis of your discussion, and you will be able to work with staff to support your child's attainment of tangible targets in each subject area.
Appointments should be made through Bromcom using the parent MCAS (My Child at School) account. Once you have logged into your dashboard, the Parents Evening link can be found on the menu on the left-hand side of the screen. The link will take you to another screen where you can book 5 minute appointment slots with each of your child’s main class teachers. A record of your appointment will be stored on your MCAS app. You will be able to book appointments from Friday 23rd September until the day of the Year 11 Consultation evening on Thursday 29th September.
We know that a strong relationship between school and parents/ carers will ensure that students are best placed to achieve well academically. Following this evening, I will write to you again to provide an opportunity for feedback so that we can take your comments and suggestions on board and outline our intervention and support menu. I do hope that you are able to attend the Consultation Evening and we look forward to seeing you.
Yours faithfully
Mr D Rouse
