We are delighted to invite all students joining Year 7 in September to spend the day at Welling School on Tuesday 28th June 2022.

Students will be able to meet their teachers and other students who will be in their tutor group, and begin to familiarise themselves with some of the routines and the geography of the School. The day is designed to be fun and informative, and to help your child to build confidence as they prepare to start life with us as secondary school. A generic copy of this letter will be sent to you via email and also available on the school website.

Please arrange for your child to arrive at the Elsa Road entrance at 8.50 a.m wearing their primary school uniform, where they will be met and escorted to the School Hall. Welling School have written to your child’s primary school to inform them of this event.

The school will provide a free hot lunch for your child but as we are not yet aware of any dietary requirements you have the option to provide them with a packed lunch. Please make arrangements to collect them at the Elsa Gate at 2.30 pm. If you would like your child to walk home on their own please ensure that they complete the relevant section on the Google attendance form. Please ensure that you bring any medication that your child may need for the day in case of any emergency and collect it at the end of the school day. This should be given to the First Aider on arriving at the school upon registration.

Evening Event - Tuesday 28 June 2022

You are invited to attend a Parents' Evening on Tuesday 28th June 2022 at 18.00. Your child is encouraged to attend this event. This is your opportunity to meet some of the staff who will be teaching your child, hear about general matters and view a school uniform display. Staff will be available to answer any individual queries and you will have some dedicated time with your child’s form tutor and other parents and children from their tutor group.

We would welcome the opportunity to meet with every parent/carer.
